Pterocarpus 

Botanical name is Pterocarpus. It belongs to the family of African hardwoods.

This tree develops below ground in the area of West Africa, in Angolia and in Nigeria.

The specific medium weight is 720 kg/m³.

The vivid blood-red heartwood passing with the drying to the purple brown with red veins, wide clearly differentiated whitish sapwood; straight grain, fairly coarse texture.

Wood is used to build high-class furniture, fancy turning, inlay, tool handles and knives; rowing; floors.

To keep the color bright red, this wood must be painted quickly, also avoiding exposure to prolonged light. It is intended for internal use.

A wide range of objects in the processing industries: from parquet to naval furnishing works.
