Aucoumea klaineana

Botanical name is Aucoumea klaineana. It belongs to the family of Burseraceae.

Sapwood and heartwood are clearly distinguished;

The sapwood has a grayish color while the heartwood is salmon pink.

It has a medium texture and a straight but sometimes interlocked grain.

 The artificial drying the wood dries well without any particular problems.

Okoumè is widely used in carpentry, specifically for frames and fixtures, to build boxes of various kinds as well as objects.

This wood is also used for plywood, multi-layer panels and for various jobs in the construction of light boats;
